NTU Hospital, Deep Force Cooperate in Research on Medical Image Analysis
February 06, 2018

National Taiwan University (NTU) Hospital and Deep Force, a provider of deep learning platform for mobile devices, have been jointly conducting a research on processing and analyzing medical images for diagnostic purposes, according to Deep Force co-founder and CEO Winston Chen.

The main goal of the research is to detect genetic mutation through big data analysis of the hospital's gene databases, Chen said. Based on big data analysis matched with doctors' recommendations, the AI (artificial intelligence) system is capable of determining whether fragments of a gene mutate and whether such mutation is likely to cause diseases, Chen explained.

The project is intended to find the correlation between diseases occurring to many members of a family and their genes.
